In the meantime, it has evolved into a full-fledged marketplace used by millions of job seekers and more than a million employers. It boasts the title of the highest-rated job search app on both Android and iOS. In this ZipRecruiter review, we explore the options it offers to both job seekers and employers, also determining its usefulness as a job posting and job search tool.

ZipRecruiter is a hiring platform whose aim is to quickly connect qualified job seekers with employers looking for candidates with a specific set of skills. It allows employers to create a job offer in just a couple of steps, posts the job to over 100 leading job boards, and notifies job seekers that match employers’ expectations to apply for the position. While researching for this ZipRecruiter review, we were happy to discover that job seekers can use the platform completely free of charge, with unlimited access to all the features it offers.
Employers can choose a job posting plan based on the size of their business and their hiring needs. The first step is choosing between the Standard, Premium, and Pro plans.
The Standard plan includes distribution of job offers to over 100 job boards. With the Premium plan, employers do not only have their job offers posted on 100+ job boards, but also gain access to the ZipRecruiter database that includes more than 12 million resumes and get premium placement in more than 15 million emails sent to job seekers. Finally, the Pro plan allows employers to enjoy all the benefits included in the Premium plan, with the added benefits of getting maximum placement in emails sent to job seekers and gaining access to the TrafficBoost feature designed for urgent and hard-to-fill jobs, as well as the possibility to send candidates directly to their external applicant tracking software.
Each of these plans allows clients to choose from 4 different sub-plans that differ in the number of simultaneously active job offers available. The sub-plans include the Starter, Team, Company, and Enterprise plan.
The Starter plan includes 3 active job slots, the Team plan includes 10 active job slots, the Company plan allows employers to have 20 active offers at the same time, and the Enterprise plan allows employers to have 50 active offers simultaneously. With all plans, employers get full customer support, one-click social network integration, candidate screening feature, resume database alerts, and new candidate alerts. There are no limits on the number of candidates per job post. All plans include 1 user account, except for the Enterprise plan, which includes as many as 7 user accounts.
As far as the prices are concerned, they differ for every plan and they may not fit the budget of every business. Users can choose between the monthly, 3-month, and annual plans. It is important to keep in mind that longer subscriptions do not come with any discounts. Invoicing is available upon request for multi-month subscriptions.
With the Standard plan, the prices start at $249 per month, which is the price of the Starter plan, and go up to $1255, which is the price of the Enterprise plan. With the Premium plan, the prices start at $349 while the lowest price of the Pro plan is $599 per month. All plans come with a 4-day free trial. While a free trial is always welcome, 4 days may not be enough for clients to determine whether the service is worth the cost.
We have to admit that we are not too satisfied with the prices. They used to be much lower and with the current pricing, many small businesses may find the subscriptions to be outside their budgets.
User Experience & Satisfaction
Job seekers who use ZipRecruiter are generally highly satisfied with the platform. Many of them claim that it has helped them find good jobs within weeks. They find mobile apps to be of great use in keeping track of job offers and one-click application makes the whole process of applying much easier than usual. The fact that ZipRecruiter is free for job seekers makes it all the more appealing. All in all, ZipRecruiter is highly recommended by job seekers around the nation.
Employers who use the platform are not exactly unanimous in their verdict. While a large number of employers claim that ZipRecruiter is their go-to hiring platform and find it to be extremely helpful in managing applications and finding suitable candidates, others express dissatisfaction with customer support and find the prices to be rather high. One of the common complaints is that one-click application has made it too easy for candidates to apply, which leaves employers with a bunch of candidates who are not suitable for the position. While we agree with the users who believe that the prices could be lower, we are also certain that the customer screening feature can easily solve the problem of unsuitable candidates.
ZipRecruiter offers customer support via phone, email, and live chat. However, the staff is not available around the clock. Sometimes, the live chat function is not available even during office hours Monday – Friday and you may get redirected to the FAQ or email support. While the answers we received were quite satisfactory, the staff was not too quick to respond.
We believe that ZipRecruiter should provide support that is actually available 24/7 in order to satisfy the needs of its clients. In the meantime, you can always try to find the solutions to the issues you encounter in its extensive knowledge bases for job seekers and employers.
